What we're building next

Last updated: June 25, 2026|Release Notes What's New
Q3 2026 focus

With Calendars, AI Extensibility, in-Studio field editing, and keyboard-driven workflows now shipped, our Q3 focus turns to analytical depth and enterprise readiness. We're bringing native pivot and hierarchical widgets, a visual data expression builder, and global undo/redo to the canvas, while AI Controls and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility make Studio ready for regulated, large-scale deployments. Planned items reflect current intent — timing may shift as priorities evolve.

Q1 20261 feature
AG Studio Go-Live

The foundational composer UI for building analytics dashboards with AG Grid and AG Charts.

shipped
Q2 20266 features
Custom Widget
AS-15

Drop custom HTML/JS or framework components onto the Studio canvas alongside native charts and grids.

Why are we building this?

Unblocks customers who need bespoke visualisations without leaving Studio.

Server-Side Aggregation
AS-617

Sum, count, avg and other aggregations run on the server rather than in the browser.

Why are we building this?

Handles enterprise-scale datasets that would otherwise blow browser memory limits.

shippedView Docs
Data Edit UI
AS-619

Lets report users edit field properties — formatting, labels, and display — on the edit panel.

Why are we building this?

Gives report builders direct control over how fields are presented, reducing the need to pre-configure everything at the data source level.

shippedView Docs
Keyboard Actions & Shortcuts
AS-625

Navigate and control the dashboard by keyboard, with context-aware shortcuts.

Why are we building this?

Speeds up power users and lays the groundwork for meaningful accessibility compliance.

Calendars
AS-613

Group and analyse date fields by chronological and cyclical calendar units such as year, quarter, month.

Why are we building this?

Removes the need to manually construct time-based expressions for common patterns like period-over-period comparisons and year-to-date calculations.

shippedView Docs
AI Extensibility
AS-620

Exposes Studio's AI tools externally via the AI Toolkit, callable independently of the assistant.

Why are we building this?

Gives developers the flexibility to integrate Studio's AI capabilities into their own workflows and interfaces — the foundation on which everything that follows is built.

Q3 20266 features
Accessibility
AS-592

Audits and remediates Studio against WCAG 2.1 AA for keyboard, screen reader, and contrast.

Why are we building this?

Meets a baseline expectation for enterprise software and a common requirement in procurement processes.

in progress
Data Expression UI
AS-606

Lets users create calculated fields using a visual expression editor, without writing code.

Why are we building this?

Makes custom metrics accessible to non-technical users who cannot write raw expressions.

in progress
Pivot & Hierarchical Widgets
AS-591

Adds pivot tables, hierarchical charts, and multi-level category grouping as new widget types.

Why are we building this?

Gives enterprises the standard way to explore and visualise the hierarchical, multi-dimensional data they work with every day.

in progress
Undo / Redo
AS-604

Undo and redo for all edit mode actions — widget placement, resizing, and configuration.

Why are we building this?

Underpins a confident editing experience as dashboards grow in complexity.

in progress
AI Controls and Customisations
AS-605

Adds AI Preview, Undo/Redo for AI actions, and custom prompts and agent profiles.

Why are we building this?

Makes the AI assistant trustworthy and configurable enough to deploy across a wide range of enterprise use cases.

planned
Server-Side Pagination
AS-630

Lets developers handle page requests server-side via a developer API across widget types.

Why are we building this?

Keeps Studio performant when working with datasets that cannot be loaded client-side in their entirety.

planned
Q4 20266 features
AI Server-Side Orchestration
AS-778

Explores how Studio can participate in server-side agentic workflows via emerging frameworks.

Why are we building this?

Prepares Studio for emerging server-side agentic workflows, moving deliberately as industry standards mature.

planned
Data Incremental Updates
AS-607

Streams partial dataset updates to widgets without requiring a full data reload.

Why are we building this?

Enables live and near-real-time dashboards without the overhead of re-fetching entire datasets on each update.

planned
Data Modelling UI
AS-594

Define data source relationships, field types, and computed fields in a visual modelling UI.

Why are we building this?

Gives users the ability to shape and define their data model directly in Studio, rather than relying on how data was structured at the point of ingestion.

planned
Drill Down & Drill Through
AS-628

Explore detail from a chart or grid, or jump to linked dashboards carrying filter context.

Why are we building this?

Lets users move from summary to detail without leaving their workflow — a standard interaction in analytical products.

planned
Layout & Panel UX Improvements
AS-624

Addresses UX debt and polish across the dashboard layout and panel experience.

Why are we building this?

Ensures the day-to-day experience of building and navigating dashboards remains smooth as Studio matures.

planned
Server Side Toolkit
AS-593

Provides advanced server-side helpers for developers building AG Studio integrations.

Why are we building this?

Enables teams to integrate Studio into server-driven architectures beyond what the client-side API supports alone.
